From the beginning of Jet Black Squares, it has been very important to us that our events and workshops are open and welcoming to everyone. Over the past two years we have run LGBTQ+ friendly smartphone photography safaris for individuals, couples and groups. This is why we are over the moon to now be officially approved as a TravelGay provider!

We understand how intimidating it can be to be a lone gay traveller in a city, which is why we can run one-to-one workshops in locations we know are safe and are fascinating to explore.

Joining one of our group photography workshops can be a great way to get to know an area of a city, meet new people, take some great shots and learn some new skills along the way.

If you are a couple or family looking for a fun day out and the chance to get some great shots together, we can create a bespoke smartphone safari for you in a location of your choice.

All of our safaris last 2 hours. On the day, we will meet in a pre-determined location that’s easy to get to; usually near a station or key monument. From here, we will take a walk around the area, exploring the main sights and the less known spots. While exploring, we will show you how best to set up your smartphone camera and how to use lighting, reflections, exposure and focal points to create great photos. We finish the session learning how to edit your shots using the free app Snapseed, usually over a coffee (or something stronger!) at a local LGBTQ+ friendly bar or café.
