The middle of winter can be a tough time for our mental health and, with the cold weather at the moment, you may find you are getting out less than you would like to. Studies show that being in nature, talking to others and engaging in a creative activity can have a positive effect on both our mental and physical health. For this reason, we’ve decided to set up our free Snap & Chat sessions, which give you the chance to meet some new people, get outdoors, and learn a few photography skills. So, if the winter blues have crept in and you are feeling stuck inside and want to do something engaging, why not join one of our sessions this winter?
Our Snap & Chat sessions are completely free to join and are designed to help get people up and out into the fresh air. We will meet up during the daytime in a small friendly group for a relaxed chat while taking a walk. As we go along, the group leader will point out some interesting photography opportunities you can take with your smartphone and a few tips to capture a great shot. Please note that these sessions are not a full smartphone photography safari, but are rather an opportunity to get out and enjoy some time in good company. We will usually finish the session at a café where you can grab a tea or coffee and carry on chatting.
Snap & Chat sessions run for 1:30 minutes and take place around Rothamsted Park in Harpenden or the Redbourn area. We choose routes that are wheelchair accessible and sessions are open to anyone as long as you can reach the location and follow the route. So, bring along a good pair of shoes and a sense of humour and we look forward to seeing you there.
